Precision CD WAV MP3 Converter is a combination audio file format converter, a digital audio CD ripper, (extractor) and a digital audio WAV recorder. It also includes an ID3v1 tag editor. It can convert MP3, WMA, WAV and OGG to MP3, (CBR, VBR or ABR), WMA 8, WMA 9, WAV and OGG.
Precision CD WAV MP3 Converter is designed for beginners and advanced users. When you convert to MP3, you can choose Automatic Easy Presets or you can select the Advanced CBR, VBR, ABR or Expert modes for extremely precise control over the MP3 encoding process. When you convert to WMA, OGG and WAV, you also have a wide variety of easy to use, quality settings.
Drag and Drop is supported for quickly and easily adding files. The CD extractor will rip audio CD's to MP3, (CBR or VBR) or WAV. It makes exact digital copies of audio CD's using automatic error correction. The included FreeDB database feature will let you automatically name your files and create folders based on the artist and album. Automatic ID3 tagging is also included.
The WAV recorder will let you record streaming Internet broadcasts or absolutely any sound to the WAV format. You can record lps, tapes, radio, microphone, streaming audio, any type of input to your sound card as a WAV file.
Copy CD's, record or convert music files that are ready to transfer to your Apple iPod, Rio, iRiver, Sony or any other portable MP3 music player! WMA, OGG and WAV are also supported in many portable players.

WMA Conversion Note:
The Precision installer installs Windows Media Audio 9 Codecs. The codecs would only have installed if you have Windows Media Player 7 or higher installed. If encoding to the WMA 9 format does not work properly, the best way to get it working is to download and install the Windows Media Player 9 from Microsoft. It provides the necessary Player upgrade and the 9 series codecs. WM Player 9 is only available for Windows 98 Second Edition, ME, NT, 2000 and XP. Therefore, Windows 95 and 98 First Edition users may only be able to encode to the WMA 8 format.

"This program meets my requirements for flexible conversion to and from wav, MP3 and wma files (and even ogg). The use of the LAME 3.92 engine provides what sounds like the best MP3 quality you can get at the moment. Important is that the output parameters can be set over a very wide range which is especially useful when trying to provide decent-sounding files of minimum size for web use. All in all a very good program.
